Entry- to Mid-Level DeveloperHawes Financial Group Inc. is a growing, recession-proof company seeks two entry to mid level developers for database and web application design, testing, programming, and cyclical lifetime support in Eugene/Springfield Oregon. We have many projects small to large that keep our current development staff of four busy and never stuck in a rut… but we still force them out the door and back to their families after 40 hours a week. Sometimes we develop one-off reports and sometimes we develop whole financial systems from data entry clerk screens to giant DB processes to automated mailing to credit card swiper interfaces to “vertical” business to business client tools. Frankly, there is no job out there that can match how much you can learn in real world business in a shorter time. This is a perfect opportunity to gain experience and a real skill set using OO programming, SQL database operations, user interfaces, end-user and share holder interaction, version control, Open Source and M$ languages and applications. Some of the problems we face can bring those concepts from school into clear focus like searching algorithms, sorting, large set calculations, and design patterns and principles all in a setting where they are put to use every day. What you bring to the table is an ability to learn new technology, a calm disposition, comfort with communication, a nimble mind and some combination of work or schooling in the development and IT world. If you have formal training, or a degree even better, but we are focused on getting the right people for the job – not pieces of paper. The starting salary depends on your experience in the field but pay will absolutely be commensurate with performance and experience. We encourage all applicants.
