About Us
Hawes Financial Group was founded in 2006 by Joe Hawes to serve as a parent company for various financial service companies: Professional Credit Service (founded in 1933), HealthFirst Financial (founded in 1989), Professional Portfolio Service (founded in 2005) and McKenzie Leasing and Finance (founded in 1989). In 2009 International Marketplace was founded to serve the growing needs of the Hawes Financial Group company.
Green Initiatives
Hawes International Marketplace is dedicated and committed to improving our environment and reducing our carbon footprint. Here are some of the methods that we use to achieve the highest level of energy efficiency:
- The Hawes Financial Group Corporate office in Springfield, Oregon was constructed with advanced computer based building and lighting controls for the purpose of minimizing energy consumption without sacrificing employee and customer comfort. By fully implementing these control systems, we have been able to reduce our monthly energy consumption by more than 50% since our initial occupancy.
- We use the lighting control system to turn on the lights in common working areas at the 50% level. Employees can use manual switches to raise the light level to 100% if needed. However, in most cases the 50% level is more comfortable for the majority of our employees that work with computer screens.
- The building also utilizes 115,500 square feet of roof space to host 600 high efficiency solar panels. The panels can produce up to 820 KWH per day.
- Photocells are also used. Photocells will automatically reduce the light levels when the daylight through the windows is adequate are also used throughout our building.
- Protection of the City of Springfield's ground water has had a significant impact for Hawes Financial Group's building operations practices. We strictly monitor all the chemicals that are brought on site by our staff or outside contractors.
- Our landscape maintenance contractor has to adhere to an approved integrated pest management plan that only uses environmentally safe herbicides and pesticides.
- Even though we only allow environmentally friendly chemicals on site, all of them are stored in secondary containment containers as a further measure to protect the water supply from a possible spill contamination.
Other ways that Hawes Financial Group is making a difference for our environment:
- Hawes Financial Group shreds and recycles all paper waste.
- In an effort to reduce fuel consumption, Hawes Financial Group also provide free LTD bus passes to our employees.
